Enjoy Lunch and a topical debate on uncertainty in the event industry.

Join us for our second new look EWL exchange lunch. You’ll have the opportunity to spend time networking and connecting with your peers over a delicious buffet lunch, followed by a topical debate led by our guest hosts and industry experts.

No-one likes talking politics however, it seems our visits to the polling booths have been non stop the past couple of years, and it’s a topic very much on everyone’s minds. What with Brexit – what will the final outcome be? The recent general election – is this current government sustainable? The world stage – global terroism and the threat of war!?

All of this has naturally created uncertainty across the industry and the wider economy with investors and businesses jittery about the outcomes and what policy changes could mean for them. What can and should we be doing as an industry to prepare ourselves, protect our businesses and retain our talent in the current political and economic climate?

This event is perfect for:

Anyone responsible for marketing and communications or talent retention, or business owners and major decision makers within event businesses. Team managers, head of departments and senior event organisers and planners will also benefit from attending this important debate.

The conversation will be:

You’ll join us for a post lunch discussion on uncertainty in the events industry as we debate and put answers to the following ‘big questions’?

Q: Events are always the first communication medium to be dumped in times of uncertainty, how can I elevate the value of my business and live communications as part of the marketing mix?

Q: How can I retain the current talent within my team, and how can I attract new talent with the vision and passion needed to protect and elevate my business?

Who are our Industry Expert ‘Guest Hosts’:

Ben Cole, Managing Director & Founder – Inspired

Ben is founder and MD of Inspired, a creative live experience agency. With a clear focus on audience engagement, Inspired works closely with brands to share their story via the creation of compelling content and memorable live communications.

Ben set up Inspired in 2011 after an extensive career in the events industry with a range of agencies and suppliers. His work has taken him around the globe, conceiving and producing B2B and B2C experiences for such brands as BMW, Shell, HP and NetApp, and his passionate belief in the power of face-to-face burns brighter than ever in 2017.

As a business uniquely focused on live experience, Inspired combines big agency pedigree with the agility and value of a small consultancy. Ben’s focus is on getting under the skin of every brief and curating the right resources and knowledge to challenge conventional thinking about events, time after time.

Robert Kenward, Director & Co-Founder – You search & select

Robert has worked within the recruitment and events sector for over 17 years and explored the world of hiring from all angles – namely as a candidate, a client and a recruiter.

This has helped him gain some much-needed perspective when evaluating how to solve a client’s hiring problems and after becoming increasingly frustrated with the usual transactional, cookie cutter approach to recruitment led him to set up an independent boutique search agency specialising in placements within the Live Events, Digital & Communications sector as he believed there was a better way.

He helps companies attract and RETAIN talent by matching people with people as well as skills with job descriptions and helps people find a role they never knew existed which is the right fit for them long term based on bespoke analysis.

He does this by having an in-depth understanding of the events industry, having worked at a senior level within a full service live events agency, a market leading global experiential agency and a large scale global travel, meetings and events business.

What’s included:

You’ll get a dining experience with knowledgable industry experts whilst enjoying a two course buffet lunch with wine and coffee, plus shared knowledge from a relevant crowd of events industry advocates and peers
