University of Westminster’s events courses break university league tables

Yesterday’s news that the University of Westminster rose from number 30 to number 6 in the Complete University Guide 2018 UK ratings for Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation and Tourism subject area has been welcomed by the university and the subject area teaching team in the Faculty of Architecture and Built Environment. It is also the number 1 university in London for the subject area. For students at the university – both local and international, London the greatest city in the world – is their campus.

NatWest inspires entrepreneurial events start-up

A former teacher and retail manager have taken the entrepreneurial plunge and launched their own events management company after a chance meeting at a NatWest event.

Diane Boothe and Sophia Leach met five months ago at a NatWest Women in Business seminar in Harrow. After realising they both shared a passion for events and a desire to set up their own business, they launched London-based company Events Inspired By.

The limited company was set up in April this year with the advice and guidance of NatWest Business Growth Enabler Stewart Smith, who has also helped the duo gain access to business finance support.

London occupancy set to be highest in Europe in 2018, says PwC

London’s hotel occupancy is set to be the highest in Europe in 2018, according to the 7th edition of PwC’s European cities hotel forecast.

London is set to see occupancy levels of 82 per cent this year, despite a supply spike and a slowdown in growth thanks to the fizzling out of the weak pound effect, the report found.
